Kitchen Island with banquette seating OR Breakfast bar? How about both?

In this Kitchen transformation done for our lovely clients in Markham, You can see both a banquette seating and a breakfast bar designed in the island space. The common practice is to add a breakfast bar to a kitchen island however adding/attaching banquette seating will completely change the look, feel and functionality of the space. It'll be ideal for open layouts of course! We combined the old dining and kitchen area together to be able to fit this custom piece in.

Banquette seating are beneficial if you would like a true eat-in, group dining experience vs a quick meal. They are also great for big families that have people of all ages and heights in the household specially since the table will be at a more comfortable height.

The job consisted of: Bulkhead removal, all new electrical, pot lights, new 2'x2' porcelain tiles, removal of a closet in the servery to make way for pantries, and of course, all new cabinets & countertops.

Each unit is treated individually, and homeowners had a choice of 8 colours, and a series of customizations. This line of cabinets is 100% FSC approved, and qualifies for LEED and other green building programs.
